Dalindyebo's membership cancelled – DA

Move comes after court upholds ruling against king, says the party

Dalindyebo DA membership to be cancelled

1 October 2015

The party’s membership of King Dalindyebo will be cancelled following the Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) ruling that upheld charges of assault, arson, kidnapping and defeating the ends of justice with a sentence of 12 years against the King.

This is in accordance with the DA’s Constitution which expressly stipulates that membership to the party will be revoked if someone is “found guilty of any offence listed in Schedule 1, 2, 5, 6 or 7 of the Criminal Procedure Act.”

The DA is committed to a society where the Rule of Law is applied fairly and consistently and that anyone found to be in breach of it must be held responsible.
