"I'll give you war!" - Daily Sun

The front page and lead story of SA's largest daily newspaper, August 22 2014

Daily Sun (August 22 2014) - SANGOMA Mandla wants to marry his ex-girlfriend, but the woman's father stands between them.

He said he has his own sangoma who will show Mandla what real power is.

NOW IT'S A BATTLE OF SPELLS BETWEEN THE PROTECTIVE DAD AND THE LOVE-CRAZED SANGOMA!

"If it's war he wants, it's war he'll get," sangoma Mandla Mnqwazi (39), from Fochville, west of Joburg told Daily Sun yesterday.

He dated Neo Mosiane (25) for seven years after meeting her at their gobela's place.

"She is also a sangoma, and she pressured me to marry her," Mandla said.

"But now that I have decided to grant her wish she has stopped working as a healer and got a job at the bank.

"Clearly, she's met better men in the city and is disrespecting her culture.

"I don't have a problem with her working, because my ancestors blessed her with that job. But I will not let her father send me threats," he said.

Mandla is convinced that Neo has been cheating on him in the presence of her dad.

"I have been told that she's been spotted at shebeens with different men. I have a tracker that tells me her whereabouts and my ancestors have confirmed to me that she is seeing other men.

"I went to surprise her with gifts for her birthday last Saturday, but she got cheeky and asked why I was there. In her room I found a box of wine and traces that she had been with men," said Mandla.

He said the person he's really angry with is Neo's dad for letting her sleep with other men and creating a rift between the lovers.

"He told me his girlfriend is a sangoma and that she'd show me," Mandla said.

"But I was trained in Mozambique, Ghana, Lesotho and the Kalahari, to name just a few places. I am prepared for anything they throw at me.

"My ancestors won't rest until I'm satisfied. Neo's family must come and apologise to me so my ancestors can be at peace, and they too can know peace.

"But if they want war, so be it."

When the People's Paper called Neo she denied all the allegations.

"It's all lies," she said.

At the time of going to print Neo's father had not returned Daily Sun's calls or responded to SMSes.
