"Panga men sucked my blood!" - Daily Sun

The front page and lead story of SA's largest daily newspaper, April 29 2013

Daily Sun (April 29) - MANDLENKOSI'S eyes still show fear and confusion when he talks about the horror events of Friday night. When the attackers slashed him with pangas, he thought they wanted his money - but they didn't rob him...AS HE LAY ON THE GROUND, THEY SUCKED BLOOD FROM HIS WOUNDS! "It's unbelievable! They behaved like vampires!" said Mandlenkosi Xaba (42) from Thubelitsha in Thabong, near Welkom in the Free State.

Speaking to Daily Sun from his bed in Thabong Hospital, Mandlenkosi said the nightmare started when he tried to catch a taxi on the side of the road. "I was crossing the road to get to a taxi when two men appeared out of nowhere," he said. "They were armed with pangas and they started slashing me." He said there was very little he could do to protect myself against the heavy weapons.

When he lifted his arms they slashed his arms. He fell to the ground. He was confused and bleeding but then he realised they weren't robbing him. "They leaned over me and sucked the blood that was coming out of my wounds," he said. See the Daily Sun mobi site for more on this and other stories...
