ANC crying foul because it has lost the confidence of the people

24 May 2018

The ANC in Gauteng is using scare-monger tactics and false narratives to paint itself as an organization that has the best interest of residents at heart.

For many years, successive ANC governments have undermined due process and the law, neglecting the residents they were elected to serve.

In August 2016, the people of Johannesburg and Tshwane gave the ANC the boot because of their dismal performance in government.

Since taking the reins, the DA-coalition governments have had to overcome many hurdles left in our path by the ANC.

As the DA, where there has been poor performance, we have taken decisive action and removed these individuals from office in the spirit of good governance.

The cities of Johannesburg and Tshwane have also improved since DA-coalition governments have taken office.

As pointed out by the Auditor-General, work is being done in these municipalities to rectify the legacy projects left behind by the ANC which have cost billions of Rands in unauthorised expenditure.

The work done by the DA and our coalition partners is starting to bear fruit. People who live in these municipalities are starting to see the DA difference in action.

ANC and affiliated organizations have made it their mission to see us fail by undermining our work and attempting to thwart service delivery.

We remain resolve that we will continue to improve the lives of the residents of municipalities where we govern with our coalition partners.

The ANC should be less obsessed with trying to dismantle the good work done by DA-coalition governments and focus their energies on serving the people of these municipalities.

As the DA, we committed to positively changing the lives of the people, and we have done exactly that. There is more work to be done and we are ready to roll up our sleeves and work in service of the people.
