Huge public interest in our National Assembly - EFF

Fighters says the assembly on Friday and Saturday will be constituted in the main by 2 000 delegates

STATEMENT OF THE ECONOMIC FREEDOM FIGHTERS ON THE HUGE PUBLIC INTEREST ON THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY TAKING PLACE ON 26TH AND 27TH JULY, 2013, IN SOWETO

The Economic Freedom Fighters notes the huge public interest that our National Assembly taking place in Soweto on the 26th and 27th July, has generated. Thousands and thousands of ordinary peoples across the country, in village, townships, workplaces, campuses and cities have been calling, texting and emailing applications to be part of our National Assembly.

This overwhelming interest, which humbles us deeply, is truly due to the optimism that the clarion call in the name of economic freedom in our lifetime has inspired. We however would like to indicate that for the assembly we will not be able to accommodate this huge interest.

The EFF's Assembly will in the main be constituted by close to 2000 delegated from our structures across different provinces. Furthermore, we will, following our assembly, announce the dates and time for our public launch of the Economic Freedom Fighters as a party which will happen soon after the National Assembly and it shall be open to all.

The EFF remains the movement of the people, and the National Central Command Team will continue to travel across the country to meet communities and establish EFF presence all over.

Statement issued by the Economic Freedom Fighters' National Spokesperson, Mbuyiseni Quintin Ndlozi, July 24 2013
