Pansy Tlakula appointed as new information regulator

Johannesburg - President Jacob Zuma has appointed former IEC chairperson Pansy Tlakula as the country’s Information Regulator.
Tlakula was nominated to the position by the National Assembly, with opposition from some parties.
The newly established Information Regulator will be responsible for monitoring and enforcing compliance and handling complaints related to the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPI).
Tlakula will work with Advocates Lebogang Cordelia Stroom and Johannes Collen Weapond as full time members.
