ANC KZN shocked by assassination of Cde Zodwa Sibiya, eThekwini Municipality councillor

ANCKZN has learned with shock and sadness about murder of Cde Zodwa Sibiya, ANC eThekwini Municipality councillor.
Cde Sibiya was gunned down whilst in her residing area in Gleblands Hostel, Umlazi on the South of Durban at Saturday night. This is the worst and most callous act of cowardice that all of us, as law abiding citizens, must condemn in the strongest possible terms.
Cde Sibiya was a true servant of the people, who had absolute hatred of corrupt practices in hostel and was very loyal to the revolutionary cause of our people. She was deployed as a proportional representation (PR) councillor of our movement in eThekwini Municipality assigned to work in the Bluff area.
Her murder is a sad day for our people in the eThekwini Municipality and the province of KwaZulu-Natal, as Cde Sibiya had dedicated her life to serve the humankind.
“In the ANC, we have lost our cadre who only knew nothing in her life besides serving our community. Cde Sibiya had only loved working for our people to advance change in their lives. She served our revolutionary movement with due commitment and dedication. We are much worried about what seems to be a developing trend within eThekwini Region, where leadership is seen as an easy target for assassination,” said ANC Provincial Secretary Cde Super Zuma.
Although the details of Cde Sibiya’s murder are still not clear, the ANC condemn this dastardly act of criminality, Cde Zuma added. “ANC leadership has dispatched a team of comrades to meet with the family of Cde Sibiya to understand what transpired. We are currently going through immeasurable pain for losing our gallant fighter and the servant of our people,” said Cde Zuma.
ANC has appealed to the police to ensure that the guilty individuals are brought to book. We will not rest as the ANC until justice is not just done but seen to be done to all murders in the hostel.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends and loved ones of the late Cde Sibiya. May her soul rest in peace!
