DA using Nazi propaganda tactics with pro-poor claims - SACP WCape

Masonwabe Sokoyi says Zille's claim that R8 out of R10 goes to poor communities is simply false

DA uses Nazi propaganda tactics, resuscitates abominable legacy of Malan and Verwoerd

Over the past weekend the DA in the Western Cape was in full swing making unfounded claims including the fallacious claim that they spend 76% of the budget towards the poor.

As the SACP in the Western Cape we find these claims to be nothing but cheap political gimmicks whose motive is to save the sinking support of the DA in the Western Cape.

Thus it is practically impossible for the DA to validate such false assertions. Ever since the DA came into power in the Western Cape it has been unable to meet its own housing targets. There has been a growing discontent about service delivery issues in the province compared to when the ANC was in charge. It is only under the DA that there has been growing lack of sanitation in the province.

After their failure to adequately resolve challenges facing the people of this province, the DA resorted to installing CCTV camera's to monitor the movement of communities, including planned strike actions. This has been the case in areas like Siqalo informal settlement.

As the SACP, we have gone through the length and breadth of the province and the working class communities. One message has come out: "Under the DA the abominable legacy of Malan and Verwoerd is awakened in the Western Cape".

The incorrect claims by Helen Zille that the DA is corrupt-free cannot go unchallenged. She cannot account for an expenditure of R10.3 billion on consultants. Not long ago, the DA removed one of its councillor Michael Toko from ward 20 for defrauding the social services to the tune of about R30 000. Therefore, the assertion that the DA representatives are incorruptible and that poor people are the primary beneficiary of DA's policies is laughable.

The BRT system in another good example. While the ANC government prioritized Khayelitsha and other working class communities as the pilot areas of the BRT, the DA reprioritized when they ascended to power the rich people of Milnerton because they will never come secondary to the poor.

The claim by Helen Zille that R8 out of R10 goes to poor communities is simply false. These illogical and desperate miscalculations of Helen Zille signify a fatigue from the serious blow of the failed attempt to "Rent- a-black" marathon that seriously exposed a deficit of leadership in the DA. Even within her party it has come out that there are leaders who are not pleased by her unilateral decision to hire Ramphele. She must focus on facing the wreath of her membership and stop making tired spin with a view of profiling DA as a working class friendly political entity which it is not. Everyone knows that the best friends of the DA are businesses who do not have any ballot power.

The DA is in a state of fear, hence the manipulation of people through fallacious claims is fast becoming a norm.
