Wandile Bozwana: Calm needed - Supra Mahumapelo

NWest Premier appeals to individuals to desist from making reckless statements in the public domain

Premier Supra Mahumapelo calls for calm amid shooting of Mr Wandile Bozwana

5 October 2015

The Bokone Bophirima Provincial Government has noted media reports since the fatal shooting of Mr Wandile Bozwana on Friday 2 October 2015 that seek to draw a link between his brutal killing and the recent Constitutional Court case which in the view of the Provincial Government remains sub-judice since judgement was reserved on 29 September 2015.

The incorrect media reports continue to suggest that a company called Tsoga recently took the Provincial Government to court when in actual fact it is the Provincial Government that took the matter to the Constitutional Court that sat on 29 September 2015.

Some individuals within the political space continue to make unfortunate insinuations that seek to fan public emotions on the matter. Premier Supra Obakeng Ramoeletsi Mahumapelo has appealed to the public to fully cooperate with law enforcement agencies in order to ensure speedy arrest of the perpetrators of this cruel shooting.

Mahumapelo also calls for calm and for individuals to desist from making reckless statements in the public domain. He calls on those with information to approach the law enforcement agencies rather than to raise suspicions in the public space.

Mahumapelo also calls on the entire society to respect the deceased and his family by exercising restraint regarding the public comments similar to those made over the weekend in the media.
