ANCYL strews faeces on UNHCR's door step - Ivan Meyer

DA WCape leader says office block affected also houses two provincial govt depts

Faeces at United Nations office: Dirco must apologise

The Department of International Relations and Cooperation (Dirco) must formally apologise to the United Nations after members of the ANC Youth League yesterday flung human faeces in the foyer of the office building of the Western Cape branch of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

The office block, The Protea House Building on Greenmarket Square, also houses the Western Cape Departments of Agriculture and Cultural Affairs and Sport.

This despicable act, which is part of the ANC's plan to make the Western Cape ungovernable, is now also an embarrassment for the national government which through Dirco has strong ties with the United Nations.

I call on Marius Fransman, the Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation and Chair of the ANC in the Western Cape to unequivocally apologise to the United Nations. It is the right thing to do.

Statement issued by Ivan Meyer, Leader of the DA in the Western Cape, June 11 2013
