Prove that Zille's bakkie was full of bricks - Mmusi Maimane

DA national spokesperson says COSATU's allegations are nonsensical

DA is not intimidated by COSATU lies

The Democratic Alliance (DA) challenges COSATU to prove the claims that "Helen Zille's... bakkie was full of bricks" and that the march to COSATU house was an "orchestrated attack" (see Sowetan report).

The DA recognises this nonsense for what it really is:  an empty threat to intimidate the DA into halting the criminal action we have already initiated against COSATU.

The DA organised a peaceful march to advocate for a policy that can help 423 000 young people in three years.  We exercised our democratic right to stand up for what we believe in. COSATU met us with violence because they have no defensible argument against the implementation of the youth wage subsidy.

Those are the facts and that is why we have laid charges. If COSATU has such proof, why have they not laid charges and why have they not brought it forward?

I call on COSATU to bring this proof to light. Until then, these are just sad, desperate attempts to intimidate the DA. We will not be deterred by these lies and will continue to seek justice for our injured members.
