Passing of Judge Fikile Bam

It is with regret and sadness that Agri SA learnt of the passing of Judge Fikile Bam, the Judge President of the Land Claims Court, a position that he served in since 1995.  The 74 year old judge died in the Park Lane Clinic in Johannesburg yesterday. 

Johannes Möller, President of Agri SA described Judge Bam as a man of integrity, a true servant of his country, who was always dignified and principled.  "He was keenly interested in the sensitive land debate and made a huge contribution through his input, understanding and the judgements that he handed down.  He was very approachable and will be missed", said Mr Möller.

Agri SA would like to convey the organisation's condolences to Judge Bam's family.
