ANC WELCOMES BY-ELECTIONS RESULTS
The African National Congress (ANC) in KwaZulu-Natal is happy with the outcome of the by-elections we contested in four wards yesterday, 1 August 2012.
The ANC has established to be the people's choice by retaining Ntambanana Municipality's Ward 2 through a colossal victory during the by-election this past Wednesday. This victory is a clear sign of the confidence that our people have on the leadership of the ANC. We congratulate Cde Nhlanhla Mnqayi who was elected as the councillor of Ward 2 in Ntambanana Municipality.
We are also pleased that we have recorded significant growth not only in Ward 2 (Ntambanana Municipality) where we won but also in wards won by other parties.
This is again a clear indication that our people are happy with ANC's sterling performance in various municipalities throughout the country and that our movement is growing in all communities.
The positive growth we achieved during Wednesday's by-elections gives us oomph to continue mobilising support in all wards we did not win to ensure that we increase our support well before the 2016 Local Government Elections.
It is encouraging that while the support for other parties has been diminishing, the support for the ANC in KwaZulu-Natal has been on a firm increase in the past few years.
We thank the voters and volunteers who worked for the ANC victory.
