ANC wins back control of Oudtshoorn - Faiez Jacobs

Party says it will work hard to regain the confidence of the people of town, will support administrator Kam Chetty

ANC won control of Oudtshoorn

18 September 2015

The ANC Western Cape has noted that the coalition led by the ANC democratically regained control of the Oudtshoorn municipality at a council meeting this afternoon.

The ANC will put together a plan to put things right in this Little Karoo town, strengthen the support package by National Government to the people of Oudtshoorn and to reconnect with constituencies.

ANC Western Cape secretary Faiez Jacobs says: “The ANC calls all hands on deck to focus on issues affecting the people of this municipality, to be committed to good governance and improved service delivery.

“The ANC will work harder to regain the confidence of the people of Oudtshoorn, stabilise the municipality and fully support the administrator Kam Chetty.

"The ANC has taken over Oudtshoorn from the DA who is more worried about positions for pals and its internal power fights than serving the people of the town. It is time to work hard to correct problems and perceptions. The ANC will instruct the coalition to put together a plan to improve services as soon as possible.”
