ANC's promise of non-violence welcome - Mmusi Maimane

DA GPC says he trusts the crowd organised to receive DA march will be peaceful

ANC's non-violence promise for REAL jobs March welcome

The DA welcomes David Makhura's promise of "no violence" at the March for REAL Jobs on 12 February.

The promise was made at the ANC Gauteng Press Briefing in Johannesburg today.

We note also that the ANC intends to have a crowd waiting "to receive us", as Mr Makhura stated today.

We trust that this presence will be peaceful, as was the case when ANC marchers were received by DA Premier Helen Zille in Cape Town yesterday.

The key battleground in this election is on the issue of jobs and who has the best policies to create them. The ANC is promising 6 million public works placements, whereas the DA is offering 6 million REAL jobs - permanent and sustainable jobs created by the private sector in a growing economy.

Statement issued by Mmusi Maimane, DA Gauteng Premier Candidate, February 6 2014
