ANCWL's rantings and ravings everything but shocking – COSATU Limpopo

Federation says League nothing but a little and petty political cult within the ANC

COSATU Limpopo not shocked by ANC Women's League's rantings and ravings

29 August 2017

The Congress of South African Trade Unions in Limpopo has noted the ANCWL Limpopo statement regarding the COSATU rally held over the weekend in Seshego, Limpopo. The federation is not shocked by the rantings and ravings of this little and petty political cult within the ANC.

They sneer at the well attended rally of the workers and not only trash the women, who attended the meeting but continue to call them thugs. Backward and rabid misogynists could not have done a better job.

While this statement is unacceptable and outrageous, we are no longer shocked by the tantrums of these inconsequential fanatics. We hope that at some point Cde Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma will find courage to call to order his admirers and caution them against insulting and calling other women thugs in the process of campaigning for her.

We will leave the mindless business of canonization and the worship of humans to the fanatics - but we shall continue to help and support the ANC out of its political gridlock and support the struggle for the emancipation of women.

The federation in Limpopo is pleased with the success of the rally, the excitement and support demonstrated by workers, ordinary people both young and old, men and women on the presence of the Deputy President of the ANC, Comrade Cyril Ramaphosa.

COSATU in Limpopo will continue to unapologetically mobilize workers and to communicate our decisions to ordinary people, members and structures of the alliance. Deputy President comrade Cyril Ramaphosa remains our choice as workers.
