ANCYL congratulates newly elected Office Bearers

The African National Congress Youth League congratulates the newly elected office bearers of the African National Congress. We thank Comrade Kgalema Motlanthe and other comrades who made themselves available to serve the African National Congress and the people of South Africa. We thank too all delegates who went out to pledge their support in a disciplined and committed manner. All these comrades upheld and maintained our democratic culture and inspired us to always remain resoute and firm in the advancement of our views.

We call upon delegates to the 53rd National Conference to now focus on the critical work of commissions to emerge with radical policies that will change the lives of our people for the better. The young people of South Africa are tired of promises and need action for economic freedom in our lifetime.

We trust that as we engage on policy matters, we will be guided by ANC values and the Freedom Charter to ensure that our people benefit from the wealth of the land, get free, universal and equal education and have access to work, housing and security. It remains for the ANC government to implement these programmes with vigour and renewed commitment. We call upon members of the ANC Youth League , the ANC and  all South Africans to rally behind these progressive ideals.
