ANCYL ready for 25th National Congress

League says it’s happy with preparations for important event

Statement on the finalization of the 25th National Congress plans

1 September 2015

The preparations for the African National Youth Congress are proceeding as planned. Five of the provinces have held conclusive Provincial General Councils over the past few days and the four remaining will be holding theirs between today and this Wednesday. The outstanding provinces are; Free State, Gauteng, Eastern Cape and Northern Cape provinces.

All provinces are expected to finalise nominations, discuss the 'ANCYL repositioning perspective' discussion document as well as the proposed constitutional amendments paper. The NTT is encouraged by the enthusiasm and robustness of discussions in preparation for the 25th National

Congress thus far.  Provinces are hard at work to ensure the realisation of economic freedom in their lifetime, and rebuilding the youth league of the future. We are encouraged by the diligence they are demonstrating in repositioning and the renewal of the ANCYL as a critical voice representing the majority of young South Africans.

The NTT is finalizing all plans of setting up the Congress Steering Committee to oversee all congress processes as from the 4th - 6th September 2015. All other logistical arrangements are in place.
