ANCYL warns Limpopo dissidents over court action

Floyd Shivambu says the league will not be destructed by Lehlogonolo Masoga's actions

ANC YOUTH LEAGUE RESPONDS TO COURT ACTIONS LODGED AGAINST THE ORGANISATION:

The African National Congress Youth League officially confirms that the organisation has been issued with High Court papers by ANC YL Limpopo former Provincial Chairperson Lehlogonolo Masoga. Mr. Masoga claims that there is pre-determined intention to expel him from the ANC YL and he is requesting the Courts to halt all internal disciplinary process against him. The ANC Youth League has instructed Lawyers to respond to the Court process, whilst awaiting the official report on the National Disciplinary Committee findings and judgment to be presented to the National Executive Committee for finalisation. We will never be destructed by people who are desperate for positions and trying to drag Courts to affirm them even when membership of the ANC Youth League has rejected them as leaders.

The ANC Youth League had also learnt that members of the dissolved Provincial Executive Committee of the ANC YL in the Eastern Cape intend to interdict the 7th Provincial Congress, which the National Working Committee will convene. The ANC YL has not received any notice and will react to it only when it is brought to our attention. Presently, the ANC Youth League NWC is making final preparations for the Eastern Cape 7th Provincial Congress, which will happen on the 2nd weekend of July 2010. Members of the dissolved Provincial Executive Committee in the Eastern Cape are desperately resorting to Courts to stop congress because they do not want members to decide on who should lead the ANC Youth League in the Province.

The ANC Youth League places it on record that Court actions against internal organisational process are alien to our movement and totally unacceptable. The ANC YL will make sure that all members who are part of the Court actions directly and indirectly ultimately account through internal organisational process. We will never be intimidated by stray elements and will forever stay firm in protecting the integrity and discipline of our organisation. The 23rd National Congress gave this National Executive Committee a mandate implement all resolutions and ultimately convene the 24th National Congress in 2011. Such is going to happen and no amount of bickering and barking from the sideways will divert and destruct our determination to convene a successful National General Council in 2010 and Congress in 2011.
