Collapse of NCape Provincial Peoples Assembly a disappointment - EFF

War Council says those responsible for violence against members and damage to property will be dealt with harshly

The EFF statement on the provincial peoples assemblies of Northern Cape, Gauteng, Limpopo and Mpumalanga

17 November 2014

The Economic Freedom Fighters congratulates the Provinces of Gauteng, Limpopo and Mpumalanga for hosting successful Provincial Peoples Assemblies which have marked the historic establishment of the EFF in the respective provinces. The assemblies elected, for the first time, a new leadership and took resolutions for the advancement of the mission of economic freedom in what were constitutional gatherings of branches in good standing.

The EFF however expresses deep disappointment at the collapse of the Northern Cape Provincial Peoples Assembly (see DFA report). The War Council, which sat this morning, has received reports on the violence and disruption of the meeting and damage to property and will be taking the necessary steps to ensure that remedial action is undertaken. Those responsible for violence against members and damage to property will be dealt with harshly.

The EFF will never reward disruptors who when their views do not find expression resort to violence and destruction of property. To be a fighter, a member of the EFF, is to observe its protocols and internal processes. It is also to observe its discipline and code of conduct. A fighter stops being a fighter when he raises his or her hand on another fighter or throws a stone to destroy the property hosting EFF gatherings.
