COSATU supports Woolworths Boycott Day of Action

Federation says company is collaborating with a state (Israel) which practices the most abominable crimes against humanity

COSATU supports Woolworths Boycott Day of Action and ANC NEC decision to boycott Israel as an apartheid state

COSATU reaffirms its unequivocal commitment to the cause of the Palestinian people's struggle and the Boycott Disinvestment and Sanctions campaign against the apartheid and colonial state of Israel.

We call upon all progressive forces in the world and workers in particular to intensify their own activities in line with the struggle to defeat apartheid and colonial occupation in Palestine and wherever it appears.

We join all progressive forces in calling for the intensification of the campaign against Woolworths and Dischem for supporting apartheid in Palestine and promoting the occupation regime by collaborating with a state which practices the most abominable crimes against humanity.

Tomorrow, the 27th September is National Day of action against Woolworths and we call on all workers to join the mass activities aimed at intensifying the global campaign to end the occupation.

COSATU further welcome the decision of the ANC NEC to take the solidarity campaign with the colonised people of Palestine to new heights. We commit to work with the ANC as the leader of the alliance and all progressive forces towards a decisive campaign to isolate and defeat apartheid anywhere and everywhere.
