DA Young Leaders Programme: Call for applications - Helen Zille

Party working towards attracting finest young leaders in South Africa

Applications for the DA's Young Leaders Programme, 2012 class, are now open. South Africans between the ages of 18 and 35 who share the DA's vision of the Open, Opportunity Society for All and who are passionate about making a positive difference in South Africa are invited to apply at www.youngleaders.org.za

The DA's Young Leaders Programme, now in its 6th year, offers an exciting and invaluable opportunity for future leaders to learn more about politics, leadership, the DA, our vision for South Africa, and how they can be a part of it. This year long, part-time leadership development programme is designed to give participants the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to be the future leaders of the DA and South Africa.

Applicants will be subjected to a rigorous selection process, and if successful, will be expected to commit themselves to the programme's requirements for the year.

The DA has made it clear that we will work to attract the finest young leaders from across the country to help us build a new majority in South Africa. Most young South Africans reject the politics of race and division, and are looking for a new brand of leadership. Leaders who lead from the front and by example, who are committed to expanding opportunities in education and employment, who work for the benefit of all South Africa's youth and not just the connected few.

These are leaders who value accountability and transparency and abhor corruption. They are committed to robust debate but reject personal insults masquerading as political interaction. They choose to get involved because of a desire to see all South Africans prosper, not to use their positions as a get-rich-quick scheme.

As more and more of the DA's Young Leaders become public representatives, staff members, and leaders at every level and in every part of the DA and South Africa, the programme is set to impact significantly on the future of the Party and the country.
