De Lille's candidacy for DA WCape leader slap in face of old guard - ANC Cape Town

Tony Ehrenreich says reason for Mayor's elevation in the Party is because she has become the poster child of the DA Liberal Agenda

De Lille to stand for DA Head of Province

The announcement by De Lille that she intends standing for the DA Head in the Western Cape Province is a real slap in the face of the old guard of the DA. The reason for her elevation in the Party is because she has become the poster child of the DA Liberal Agenda. De Lille has distinguished herself in the manner in which she has taken forward the DA. She has overseen the increase of inequalities between the rich and poor in Cape Town.

This has been achieved by giving the Blaauwberg Strand a Rolls Royce My Citi bus system, whilst giving Khayelitsha and Mitchells Plain the crumbs of a system under the same name.  De Lille has neglected the poorer communities of the Cape Flats and it is now being exposed so the DA wants to move her elsewhere, lest the electorate remove her.

The recent corruption scandals involving Filcon and the wastage of millions of rand through the World Design Capital to the rich, has come to the attention of poor communities, who are not getting water and sanitation, because of claims of no money in the budget.

The claim to fame of De Lille has recently been exposed at the hearing of the arms deal enquiry, when it was exposed that she was only a messenger and did not herself know any of the details of the arms deal. Her history before that in the ID was not glowing either, as her Party was down to a 1 % Party that was going to disappear completely at the next election.

Even before the ID she was given a position in the PAC as a result of her being a leader in the Trade Union. This Union however, has never taken up struggles of workers and her role was largely that of a sweet heart Union leader. De Lille was constructed by the DA to serve their purposes of defending white advantages of apartheid.

The ANC would welcome her nomination as it points out that the DA admits that their present leaders are not up to speed. They are however getting someone who is as bad a leader and who has been followed by dissent and tensions in organisations. The only people she is loyal to, are her ID inner circle who she is deploying to strategic positions in the DA, to defend her turf. But this political manoeuvring has led to dissent and divisions in the DA old guard.

This clearly is part of the bigger agenda of Zille to have her loyalist in the Province, so she can go to Parliament Nationally as her present DA MP's are not coping with the EFF, let alone the ANC.
