DENOSA mourns death of specialist doctor

The Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa mourns the passing of specialist Doctor, John Moche (see report).

Dr. Moche was killed in a tragic high jacking over the weekend.

Dr Moche's death comes at the time when the country is confronted by a chronic shortage of health professionals with an increasing health demand from the public. It is for this reason and more that extra effort must be applied in fighting the brutal scourge of crime that is holding us at ransom.

"We reiterate the view expressed by the South African Medical Council (SAMA) that this incident underlines that government needs to act swiftly in the fight against crime as it has once more robbed not only the medical fraternity but the entire country", says DENOSA General Secretary Thembeka Gwagwa.

Dr Moche was a Senior Dermatologist at the University of Pretoria.

"On behalf of all nurses in the country, we send out heartfelt condolences the Moche family, friends and the to the entire medical fraternity", says Gwagwa.
