EFF thanks students for their votes

Party happy with its showing in University of Limpopo elections

EFF STATEMENT ON THE OUTCOME OF SRC ELECTION AT UNIVERSITY OF LIMPOPO

The EFF welcomes once more the popular will of the students of University of Limpopo who have chosen EFF as their number one choice in the SRC Elections. The EFF Student Command has improved from attaining 2794 votes last year to 3558 votes which still puts it as the leading student organization in terms of the popular will of the students.

This is despite the reality that SASCO violently disrupted the election on the first voting day last week Thursday when it was clear that numbers were not on their side. They then demanded that voting should proceed on Monday to allow them space for their MECs to come back from the ANC NGC, fund them with no less than 10,000 tshirts, an extravagant stage and sound and get them SABC soapie celebrities. Above all this, they still could not be the first choice of the students as numbers do not lie. The EFF remains the number one and leading choice of University of Limpopo students.

This year's outcome has resulted in the EFF attaining 8 seats in the SRC, same as SASCO, and the SCO getting only one. Thus, to constitute the SRC portfolio allocations, the SCO will be the deciding vote and the EFF is already in talks to make sure that the student's number one choice is indeed affirmed in how SRC portfolios will be decided.

The EFF expresses gratitude to all students, fighters and commissars for this victory.

The EFF has demonstrated a steady growth and taken the lead in the presence strong, violent and bullying opponent, supported by the entire state machinery.
