Eskom cuts power to new Natalspruit hospital - Jack Bloom

DA MPL says Gauteng DoH owes R1.5m for electricity, as well as a R8m deposit

ESKOM CUTS POWER TO NEW NATALSPRUIT HOSPITAL

Last week on Friday at 10 am, Eskom cut electricity to the new Natalspruit hospital in Vosloorus because of an unpaid bill.

The Gauteng Health Department owes Eskom R1.5 million for electricity, and R8 million deposit. The unpaid bill dates back to March this year.

This means that contractors there will not be able to complete their work, thus delaying the opening still further.

This hospital was supposed to be finished in March 2009, but has been plagued by delays and cost over-runs.

It is really disappointing that the department is still failing to pay suppliers on time.
