Sharp rise in farm murders - DA demands action now!

The DA expresses our deep concern and sorrow over the escalating farm murders, which have reached alarming levels in our country. The recent brutal murder of Theo Bekker in Mpumalanga, coupled with Julius Malema's incitement to "Kill the Boer," has raised serious red flags that we cannot afford to ignore.
We must not turn a blind eye to the signs and history's lessons. The dangerous rhetoric and violence aimed at a particular group of our society are deeply troubling, and we must act swiftly to address this grave situation.
The ANC's failure to address Malema's inflammatory statements and the escalating farm attacks is a clear indication that we cannot rely on their leadership to protect our citizens. It is time for all political parties to put aside their differences and come together to safeguard the lives and dignity of all South Africans.
Whilst Minister Thoko Didiza is quiet about the murder of farmers and incitement of violence by Julius Malema, we urgently call for the establishment of a commission of inquiry to investigate the potential link between the EFF's incitement and the surge in brutal farm attacks and murders. This inquiry must leave no stone unturned, and its findings should inform comprehensive measures to ensure the safety of our farmers and farmworkers.
President Cyril Ramaphosa must unequivocally condemn these acts and demonstrate decisive leadership in addressing this crisis. The safety and security of our citizens, regardless of their background, must be at the forefront of our national agenda.
We have consistently advocated for the implementation of proper rural safety units and reservists, recognising the unique challenges faced by our rural communities. The insecurity they endure daily demands urgent action and support from our government.
Given the lackluster response from the SAPS minister regarding policing in rural areas, a commission of inquiry becomes even more critical. It is time to unite all segments of society to address this pressing issue collectively.
In light of the harrowing historical examples we must learn from, the DA condemns these senseless murders in the strongest terms. Our hearts go out to the families affected, and we pledge to fight against dangerous political rhetoric that puts lives at risk.
Let us stand together, as a nation, to demand accountability, justice, and a safer future for all South Africans. We must not allow history to repeat itself, and we must take action to prevent any further escalation of violence. The DA is committed to tirelessly working towards creating a secure environment for every citizen and upholding the principles of peace, respect, and unity in our beloved nation.
