Right-wingers band together for racist reasons
Western Cape FF+ leader Corné Mulder's call on voters not to support the ANC in next year's provincial elections shows his and that party's ignorance and arrogance when dealing with the voters of the province.
This call comes from a politician and a party, whose only reason for existing is to protect the less than half a million white people who still harbour dreams of subjugating the black masses in an apartheid-styled country and the retention of privilege for some, says ANC Western Cape leader Marius Fransman.
Almost 20 years into democracy the Mulder clan and the FF+ still can't face the reality of a free and democratic South Africa where all people have the right to choose their own leaders to represent them at all levels of government and society.
In an attempt to scare potential voters away from the ANC in the Western Cape, the FF+ employs that old apartheid-era tactic of "swart gevaar"(black danger), which the governing DA also regularly uses, to corral their supporters into a laager of fear, suspicion and mistrust based on their racism.
They do this because they haughtily believe that the hard working and peace-loving people of the Western Cape - black and white -will fall for their racist "wit baasskap mentality" (white bossiness).
The people of the Western Cape have noted with disappointment since the ANC no longer rules the province or the City of Cape Town that service delivery, education standards and even crime levels have all deteriorated in most areas and towns across the province.
Only in the rich historically white areas like Rondebosch, Blaauwberg, Bellville and Plattekloof are services properly delivered. This DA-led government, of which Corné Mulder and the FF+ are coalition partners, only look after the interests of the rich at the expense of the majority poor working class people of this great province.
It must be remembered that it was with the help and backing of the FF+ that Helen Zille started her reign as mayor! The FF+ is eagerly working with the DA to turn this province into a second Orania volkstaat (homeland/enclave) to please minority interests.
It is also becoming clearer that the FF+ is now comfortable to support the indistinguishable, devoid of policy and unprincipled DA who courts black voters, but remains anti-black and firmly racially aligned to the former minority powers.
The time has come for all people, who want to see meaningful changes occur in their communities, to stand up against the racism of Helen Zille's governing DA and her right-wing coalition allies - like the FF+! It is clear that the FF+ prepares to be swallowed by the DA, like the NNP, FA and ID. The last remaining FF+ supporters might as well vote for the DA!
It is only with a governing ANC that the Western Cape can grow to reach its full potential as a province where all people are treated equally with dignity and respect, or where inequality, racism and discrimination will finally have no place. The Western Cape deserves better than being taken back to apartheid times or subjected to race based actions.
