TRANSNET STATEMENT ON THE JUDGEMENT AGAINST GAMA

The findings of the independent chairman in the disciplinary hearing of Mr S Gama were delivered to the parties on Saturday morning (June 5 2010). In a detailed 200‐page finding, Mr Gama was found guilty of each of the charges brought against him including one of irretrievable breakdown in relationship with Transnet.

In the final stage of the proceedings, the chairperson will be requested, after hearing further submissions from the parties, to recommend an appropriate sanction.
