Heads of Court express confidence in Mogoeng

Judges deny they felt compelled by CJ to attend I CAN leadership conference

MEDIA STATEMENT FROM THE HEADS OF COURTS

The Heads of Courts have noted some of the allegations in the media about Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng in the wake of the invitation to them to attend a conference.

The invitation was not to a religious event but to a leadership conference, which nobody was ordered or compelled to attend.

The Heads of Courts wish to state that they have confidence in Chief Justice Mogoeng and that they will give him support in the execution of his duties as Chief Justice of the Republic, in the same way as they did with other previous Chief Justices."

The above statement is issued on behalf of the Heads of Courts comprising the President and Deputy President of the Supreme Court of Appeal (in his capacity as the Head of the Electoral Court); the Judges President of the various Divisions of the High Court and Specialist Courts.
