Maimane Campaign’s National ‘Telethon’ Kicks Off

The Maimane Campaign is today launching a national ‘telethon’ to canvass voting delegates all over South Africa.

Mmusi Maimane will be working at the main call centre in Gauteng making personal calls to delegates. He will be at Mark’s Spark Sports Club, Judith Road, Emmarentia from 11:00 to 13:00. There will be opportunities for interviews and photographs.

Provincial Campaign Teams are setting up satellite operations all over the country to canvass support for Maimane in their province. This effort is being co-ordinated by national canvassing manager for the campaign, John Steenhuisen. In a letter to provincial canvassing captains this week, he said:

Dear Provincial Captain,

Thank you for the hard work to date, the campaign is yielding terrific results thanks to your dedication.

I write to share with you the exciting news about the National Telethon for the campaign that will take place this Saturday. I would be very grateful if you could help us to set up a telethon satellite in your province for some time on Saturday.

We will provide you with a budget for refreshments (pizzas, cool drinks etc) which you can provide for your activists. The point is to make it a fun time calling delegates and sharing the positive message for the campaign.

You will be able to share pictures of your event on social media and help us share our excitement with the rest of South Africa.

I look forward to your assistance with this push to get Mmusi elected. I have attached a flyer that you can use to recruit any potential canvassers. Please contact me with any queries that you may have.

Kind regards,

John Steenhuisen

The Maimane Campaign is building up a real head of steam as we enter the final week. Delegates are uniting behind Maimane because they want a leader who can grow the party by connecting with voters of all backgrounds.
