Manase report implicates ANC in eThekwini corruption - IFP

Joshua Mazibuko notes that while several ANC leaders have been fingered, no stern action has been taken against them

ANC Culpable in eThekwini Corruption

The IFP has charged the ANC, as the ruling party in the eThekwini Municipality, of culpability in the eThekwini Municipality's corrupt activities revealed by the Manase Report. The party further said that, in addition to being the ruling party, various ANC leaders were fingered by the Manase Report as deeply involved in illegal activities. Reacting to the released details of the Manase Report, Joshua Mazibuko IFP Deputy National Spokesperson said:

"First of all the IFP is glad that finally the political pressures brought to bear have finally forced the ANC to release the Manase Report. EThekwini residents would do well to always keep in mind that the ANC did not release the report out of its political integrity; rather it took relentless application of pressure for them to succumb.

"Importantly, the findings of the Manase Report are an indictment of the ANC as a ruling party of culpability in the eThekwini Municipality's corrupt activities; more so because several of its leaders have been fingered and there has been no stern actions taken against them to prove the ANC's intolerance of fraudulent and corrupt activities.

"The Manase Report has shown beyond any shadow of doubt that the ANC can no longer be entrusted with the stewardship of public funds. If anything, the Manase Report vindicates our long-held view that the ANC is beyond repair; and that - if South Africa is to progress and prosper - the only right thing South Africans must do is to remove the ANC from power wherever it is ruling. The ANC must go; that is the answer to our problems."
