Marius Fransman receives Integrity Commission Report – Lawyer

Ashley Meyer says his client approached the court with great reluctance

High Court Order

27 July 2016

My client welcomes the receipt of the Integrity Commission Report today.

My client is saddened that he had to approach the Western Cape High Court for an order to compel the release of the Integrity Committee Report, despite the rule being clear that he was entitled to be placed in receipt thereof.

The Respondents' last night agreed to make the Integrity Committee report available by 12h00 today, and this was contained in the court order, taken by agreement in chambers this morning.

The remainder of the relief sought in the Notice of Motion has stood over for argument on Friday 29 July 2016. This was also contained in the court taken by agreement this morning.

My client is confident that he has made out a strong case for the relief he seeks. My client approached the court with great reluctance and after all comradely efforts to protect his rights proved futile.

The matter was postponed today at the request of the Respondents' and was agreed to by my client, although we were in a position to proceed with the matter today.
