New Kempton Park Hospital to be built in 2017

Gauteng MEC for Health, Qedani Mahlangu has indicated that a new Kempton Park Hospital will be built on the site of the old hospital, with work expected to start in 2017.

The hospital, which has been allowed to fall in to disrepair, will alleviate the heavy burden placed on the Tembisa Hospital which is the only public medical facility in the Kempton/ Tembisa region.

The DA has long called for the hospital to be reopened, and over the years have heard many half-truths that it would.

Hopefully this time, MEC Mahlangu is prepared to commit to this project and bring relief to the residents of Kempton Park and Tembisa.
