NUMSA leadership to meet with Jeremy Corbyn in the UK

The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (NUMSA) national leadership represented by comrade Irvin Jim the General Secretary and the NUMSA President, comrade Andrew Chirwa will be will be meeting with the former Labour Party Member of Parliament of the UK, comrade Jeremy Corbyn. The ITF South African Consultant, comrade Brian Fredericks, will also be joining them as part of the delegation.

The meeting will take place on the 9th and the 10th of May in the U.K. Corbyn is widely acknowledged as a man of deep and consistent principle, and he is a life-long anti-racist, Socialist and internationalist. He is also a leading figure on the global left.

The meeting is a result of a meeting between the NUMSA General Secretary, and the ITF General Secretary, comrade Stephen Cotton that took place during the ITF Conference hosted in South Africa in March 2023.

NUMSA is committed to internationalism, and therefore we work to build solidarity and opportunities for mutual learning with struggles and progressive organisations around the world. NUMSA and the SRWP look forward to the opportunity for a discussion of the international situation, the respective challenges in our countries and organisations and ways to build solidarity between the South African and British working class.
