Nzimande a member of ‘Zuma's protection unit' - Wilmot James

DA PCC condemns minister's attack on PP's Nkandla findings as "white people's lies"

Nkandla: Nzimande should rather focus on fixing his department

South African Communist Party (SACP) leader, Blade Nzimande's attack on the Public Protector's findings, referring to reports on it as "white people's lies" must be condemned in the strongest terms possible (see SABC report).

It is a poor attempt to cover up the rot at Nkandla and racialise important concerns regarding accountability, as a deflection technique.

This not only undermines a Chapter Nine institution - which is unconstitutional - but it also is a smack in the face of accountability and good governance.

This latest attack is part of a multi-pronged strategy by President Zuma's inner circle to do everything possible to prevent him from facing the music for the Nkandla scandal.

These ministers' performance in their respective portfolios is so lacklustre that their only usefulness remains in acting as a ‘Zuma protection unit' in government. Indeed, they stay in cabinet only because they help President Zuma maintain power within the ANC at all costs, and not because they serve the people.

If Mr Nzimande wants to contribute to the public discourse in South Africa, he would spend more time talking about what needs to be done to provide a quality higher education to South Africans so that they can access opportunities in the economy.

Of course this will not happen; because the ANC under President Jacob Zuma puts Jacob Zuma first and the people second.

That is why a vote for the DA on the 7th May is a vote against corruption and a vote for change.
