Durban - Protesters and authorities went head to head on multiple occasions at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in Westville on Tuesday.

Groups of students clashed with police from early in the morning.

No injuries have been reported, but police say at least three petrol bombs were exploded.

Clashes have been confined to the P Block and Oval residences.

On Monday, female students attempted to embark on a peaceful march on the campus.

However, police stopped the march, saying it violated a High Court order. Thereafter, students and police clashed.
