Ronel van Eyk's murder proof crime is out of control - FF+

Pieter Groenewald says ANC govt sitting on its hands when it comes to farm murders

Farm murder in Northwest: Government accessory due to laxity

"The murder of Ronel van Eyk, a farmer from Hartbeesfontein in Northwest, is once again proof that the government has lost control of crime, is unwilling to act decisively and is slack with regard to farm murders. The unwillingness and laxity of government is proven in that they are unwilling to declare farm murders a priority crime as the Freedom Front Plus has been asking for a very long time. Further proof is that the rural safety plan of the Police has still not been implemented. Through this the government is showing its contempt for the farming community," Mr. Pieter Groenewald (MP), the chief spokesperson on Police and provincial leader of the FF Plus in Northwest, says.

"The farming community cannot be resented if emotions are running high. There have been so many conferences and meetings on farm attacks and farm murders but nothing concrete has come from it. Through this the government is making itself an accessory to farm murders. The FF Plus will however continue to ask in Parliament that farm murders be declared a priority crime," Groenewald said.
