New DA mayor elected in Drakenstein

The DA is pleased to announce that Stephen Korabie has today been elected as the new mayor in the Drakenstein Municipality.

Korabie was first elected to the Drakenstein council in 2021 and served as a Proportional Representative for the Democratic Alliance. He brings with him years of experience, an outstanding work ethic and dedication towards serving the people of Drakenstein.

The Governance Performance Index report has recently named Drakenstein the best-run secondary city in the country, and we are confident that Mayor Korabie will continue to build on the many successes already achieved in the municipality.

Where the DA governs, whether in local or provincial government, we work hard to ensure that residents receive excellent services that give people hope and dignity. And with the 2024 National and Provincial Elections taking place on 29 May this year, we encourage residents to keep the Western Cape DA!
