#VoteForChange election advert surpasses 100,000 views – DA

Party says ANC’s criticism of the advert goes against the very ideals which Nelson Mandela himself stood for

DA’s #VoteForChange election advert surpasses 100,000 views

5 July 2016

The DA’s latest election advert has within the last 48 hours received more than 100,000 views across Facebook and YouTube. The advert was also aired last night on SABC 1, and will continue to flight for the rest of the election campaign.

The personal story of a voter in South Africa who draws on the memory of Nelson Mandela and the ideals which he fought for before casting her ballot for the DA has generated enormous interest precisely because it speaks the truth: the ANC has changed.

Indeed the ANC has abandoned the vision and principles of our national icon, Nelson Mandela. Jacob Zuma and his pals are more interested in benefiting themselves at the expense of the 8.9 million jobless South Africans. Corruption is rampant, service delivery is deteriorating, and unemployment is on the rise.

The ANC’s criticism of the advert goes against the very ideals which Nelson Mandela himself stood for. uTata Madiba is our country’s national icon. As our nation’s first democratic president, his legacy, and the important democratic principles which he fought for, belong to all South Africans.

The DA is the only party that is today realising Nelson Mandela’s legacy. This year, South Africans have an opportunity to vote for this positive change. This is change that will stop corruption in its tracks; deliver better services to all South Africans; and create the millions of jobs that we need to combat poverty once and for all.

This is the change that will help move our country forward again, and realise Madiba’s vision of a united and prosperous South Africa.
