Dear  Madam/Sirs,

OBJECTION: REGISTRATION AS PARTY: ECONOMIC FREEDOM FIGHTERS

1. We have learned from the Pretoria News of 16 August 2013, page 2, that EFF has submitted documents to register as a Political Party. Their advertisement was published in the Government Gazette of 2 August 2013.

2. lt is herewith requested !hat this objection from the Freedom Front Plus be registered. Amongst other things, the FF Plus objects because we have already experienced confusion an Social Media platforms between the abbreviations  EFF and FF Plus.

3. The FF Plus will appreciate a thorough explanation of the verdict of the Electoral Commission regarding this objection.

Yours  Sincerely

LETTER TWO

The Electoral Commission

Dear Madam/Sirs,

SECOND OBJECTION:  REGISTRATION AS PARTY: ECONOMIC FREEDOM FIGHTERS

1. In addition to our first objection, the Freedom Front Plus would like to add the following issues that further support our objection against registration of the EFF as a Political Party :

a. We believe that the registration of the EFF at the IEC would be unconstitutional as the EFF propagates nationalization of land, mines, banks and other assets without compensation, and specifically so upon a racial basis.  Neither nationalization nor racial discrimination is allowed in terms of the Constitution.

b. The present leader of the EFF, Julius Malema, has been found guilty of hate speech by the High Court of South Africa for his singing of the "Kill the Boer, Kill the Farmer" sang, which has since been prohibited from further use. Malema's use of this sang was designed to create racial polarization and stir up emotion against a certain racial and ethnic group, which represents unconstitutional conduct.  Ta date, Julius Malema as leader of EFF has shown no remorse and we believe he will continue with such unconstitutional acts, amongst others, by making use of the EFF as a vehicle for advancing such discriminatory policies and acts.

c. Lastly, the ward "Fighters" that forms part of the EFF name is inappropriate for a democratic dispensation where political parties contest elections in a democratic and ordered manner.

2. The above stated policies and conduct is part and parcel of the EFF's belief-system and, accordingly due to its unconstitutional basis, we believe that the IEC will err in its constitutional mandate if the EFF is allowed to be registered.

We shall be willing to provide any evidence to support our submission should you so wish.

Yours Sincerely

PD UYS
