DA secures additional oral questions to President session date

Earlier today the Speaker of the National Assembly, Baleka Mbete, confirmed that President Zuma would return to the National Assembly for an additional oral questions session on 16 April 2015.

This is the result of a seven-month battle by the DA in Parliament's Programme Committee and the tireless pursuit of other avenues to hold the President and Executive to account.

The additional session will finally conclude the line of questioning interrupted on 21 August 2014 and provide the opposition an opportunity to interrogate the replies provided in writing through oral follow-ups.

Furthermore, it will help to ensure that the President fulfils his parliamentary duty. The DA will closely monitor this matter to ensure the President meets his obligations.
