Futhi Mthoba's election as BUSA president a blow - BMF

Tembakazi Mnyaka says established business beat progressive forces

BMF SAYS TRANSFORMATION IS IN REVERSE GEAR IN THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION OF BUSA.

The Black Management Forum (BMF) views the outcome of the BUSA Presidential election of established business to head Business Unity South Africa (BUSA) as a blow against transformation and the unity process in the South African business community and instead a victory for the interests of established business, says Tembakazi Mnyaka, the organisation's deputy president.

Mnyaka says established business and its allies have won the day against the progressive forces and this makes a mockery of the unity process as now both the chairmanship and presidency of BUSA are held by established business. The question now is what exactly is this so-called business unity about, if not a further marginalization of the have nots by the haves?

The BMF will monitor the situation closely and evaluate its option, says Jimmy Manyi, the President of the BMF.
