Dalai Lama: De Lille suffering from acute disorder of infantilism - SACP Cape Town

Party adds that FW de Klerk has no right to lecture us on human rights give his hands are still dripping with blood from the Boipatong massacre

Patricia de Lille suffers from acute disorder and De Klerk can't lecture us on Human Rights

Friday, 03rd October 2014

The South African Communist Party in the Brian Bunting District (Cape Metro) is convinced once again that Mayor Patricia de Lille suffers from a very serious and acute disorder of infantilism.

Her latest behaviour displays the utmost ignorance about our governance systems and protocols.

In a stage managed press conference yesterday, De Lille, flanked by apartheid era president FW De Klerk, rattled lyrically placing the blame for the suspension or cancellation of the Conference of Nobel Laureate at the door of the South African government. She further went on to claim that the image of our country has been tarnished and our economy will be affected.

De Klerk for his part preached about how our foreign policy is based on our human rights culture. Since when can we be lectured on human rights by a man whose hands are still dripping blood of innocent people from the Boipatong Massacre, Thokoza killings and many others? Where was his human rights consciousness then when he presided over a regime that murdered in cold blood many heroes and martyrs of our liberation struggle?

We know as a matter of public record that he was not committed to justice and peace and that he entered negotiations due to mounting pressure economically, civil and political instability that forced the eventual demise of his racist regime. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace just as a gesture of reconciliation which he did not deserve. Nothing gives him the right to lecture us about the basis of our foreign relations.

As for De Lille, trying to please her masters is fast leading her to permanent insanity. We would like to remind her that she is a merely a mayor of the most racist and unequal city where majority of the people suffer racist brutality, inhumane treatment based on the colour of their skin. This treatment does not represent the values for which the Commander in Chief of MK Cde. Nelson Mandela fought for. But De Lille and cohorts in the DA are desperate to be associated to the legacy of the son of the Revolutionary Alliance led by the ANC.

It is clear that De Lille is unfit to hold office. Her role is to render basic services to the majority in the City and she has repeatedly failed and the latest confirmation of this fact is the report by the Social Justice Coalition on the sanitation situation.

De Lille wants to satisfy her obsession for Cape Town to get undeserved international recognition while neglecting the most fundamental human rights of citizens expressed in the Bill of Rights such as access to housing, sanitation, right to dignity etc. The people are condemned to landlessness and squatter settlements which are worsening under the DA administration.

The people of Lwandle, Hangberg, Khayelitsha, Siqalo all need development to improve their living conditions and couldn't careless about meaningless international events. This event was just a waste of tax payers money and De Lille must repay money already spent on this event amounting to R250 000. She must also redirect the entire R10 million budgeted for this event to serve poor communities.
