Several outrageous accusations of mismanagement, graft and fraud against the Oudtshoorn municipal administration and individual functionaries had been raised in the social media during the past week and found tenuous purchase in the lesser print feeding gullible readers in service of sales and profit - evidence be damned and accuracy disdained.

It is specifically noted that acting CFO and director of corporate services adv. Francois Human, immediately denied any "whistleblowing" or "telling" on the administration upon the initial publication of the false reports. Yet a ravenous media elected to entertain bias at the dear cost of factual fidelity.

The administration can ill afford to waste valuable management resources on the refutation of allegations founded in a skillful combination of lies, fiction, and innuendo selectively laced with facts about, for instance, Kruger Rands stolen many years before any of the current leading management team members even arrived in Oudtshoorn. The tales are proficiently contrived to falsely adumbrate a suggestion of truthfulness.

The administration does, however, confirm that the accusations are devoid of verity and challenge the originator and his supporters to file charges to have this phantasmagorical "orgy of corruption" investigated.
