Congratulations, Trevor Noah!

The DA congratulates South African comedian, Trevor Noah on his appointment as the new host of hit American news satire TV show, The Daily Show. He replaces Jon Stewart who has hosted the show since 1999 (see New York Times report).

Trevor Noah made his debut on the Daily Show in December last year. This will be the first time an African comedian hosts the show. This is a big achievement not only for South Africa but the continent. 

At just 31, Trevor Noah continues to fly the South African flag high and is an inspiration to young South Africans that through hard work and dedication, dreams do come true. 

The DA applauds Trevor and wishes him well on this new exciting adventure.
