KZN RGCs backed disbanding of PEC - ANCYL

League says disbanded PEC will howl in media for a moment, before reality sets in

THE ANC YOUTH LEAGUE IS PLEASED WITH KWAZULU NATAL REGIONAL GENERAL COUNCILS THAT WERE HELD TO RECEIVE THE ANNOUNCEMENT ON DISBANDMENT OF THE PEC:

The ANC Youth League is pleased with the ANC YL Regional General Councils, that happened in KwaZulu Natal to receive the National Executive Committee report on the disbandment of the KwaZulu Natal Provincial Executive Committee. On Sunday, the 2nd of October 2011, members of the ANC Youth League National Executive Committee addressed RGCs in the following regions:

1. Lower South Coast
2. Preva Khumalo
3. Harry Gwala
4. Ukhahlamba
5. Emalahleni

Contrary to the insanity spread by some newspapers and disgruntled ex-PEC members, all the RGCs that happened were succesful because branches and Regional Executive Committees of the ANC Youth League accepted and appreciated the decisions of the ANC Youth League Special National Executive Committee meeting to disband the PEC and institute disciplinary action on the ill-disciplined members. All the RGCs were attended by an absolute majority of branches and members of the REC and there was not even a single disruption or howling by members of the ANC YL.

On Monday, the 3rd of October 2011, Ethekwini Region will hold its Regional General Council, whilst the following regions will meet on the 7th and 8th October 2011: 1) Abaqulusi, 2) Far North, 3) Bambatha, 4) Moses Mabhida, and 5) North Coast. All these RGCs, like the ones that already happened will be succesful. Like it happened in previous instances, the ill-disciplined elements of the disbanded PEC will continue to howl in the media for a brief moment, and reality will ultimately set in that they are no longer members of the Provincial Executive Committee.

Members of the ANC Youth League are called upon to at all times, uphold maximum discipline and protect the values, unity and principles of the organisation. It is through these values, unity and principles that the struggles for economic freedom in our lifetime will emerge victorious.
