Zuma needs space to apply his mind on Shiceka findings - ANC

Office of Chief Whip welcomes swift finalisation of Public Protector's report

PUBLIC PROTECTOR'S FINDINGS ON SICELO SHICEKA

The Office of the ANC Chief Whip welcomes the swift finalisation of the Public Protector's investigation into the allegations involving the Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Sicelo Shiceka.

We also commend the Public Protector's briefing of Parliament's Joint Ethics and Members' Interest Committee on her findings today, 14 October 2011. The handover of the report to the co-chairpersons of the joint committee follows their request for the investigation into the allegations of breach of the Executive Ethics by the Minister.

The President must indeed be afforded the necessary space to apply his mind on the findings in order to arrive at an appropriate decision.

Statement issued by the Office of the ANC Chief Whip, ANC Parliamentary Caucus, October 14 2011
