ANC CONDEMNS KILLING OF ITS BRANCH LEADER
11 March 2013
The African National Congress (ANC) in KwaZulu-Natal condemns in the strongest possible terms the barbaric and senseless killing of Comrade Sibusiso Majola, the Chairperson of an ANC branch in Umtshezi Township.
Comrade Majola was shot dead on Saturday night. The ANC is shocked by this shameful attack. We condemn it and we urge our law enforcement agencies to ensure that the perpetrators are successfully prosecuted.
The ANC commends the police for having arrested three people in connection with Comrade Majola's death. They are expected to appear in court tomorrow.
"The ANC is very concerned about the on-going killing of its leaders in Umtshezi. In August last year, our ward councillor in Umtshezi Municipality, Jimmy Lembede was shot dead and his 11 year old son badly assaulted," said ANC spokesperson, Senzo Mkhize.
