Church leaders stand up against spanking ban - ACDP

Kenneth Meshoe says there's a big difference between spanking by loving parents and physical abuse of children

ACDP CONGRATULATES CHURCH LEADERS WHO PLAN TO RESIST PROPOSED LAW TO BAN PARENTS FROM SPANKING CHILDREN

On behalf of all Bible-believing Christians, I want to congratulate Church leaders who have planned to resist governments plan proposed law to ban parents from spanking their children for their courageous and bold stand.

I further commend them for making a vow to resist a move by the state to dictate how we should interpret the bible which we believe to be the inspired Word of God. Government should never be allowed to interfere with the rights, freedom and beliefs of Bible-believing Christians. They should be rather to use all the resources that are given. To all Chapter 9 institutions such as the Human Rights Commission to fight crime, corruption, substance abuse etc... in our country and leave the beliefs and interpretation of the Bible to those who qualified to do so.

We believe there is a big difference between spanking by loving parents and physical abuse of children. I fully agree with Rev. Errol Naidoo, the CEO of the Family Policy Institute who correctly said, "You are not going to combat child abuse by criminalising parents for disciplining their own children."

I appeal to all Christians across our country to rally behind the Joshua Generation Church who are now investigated by the Human Rights Commission, to and pray for men that they should stand strong in Bible Doctrine. They should not be intimidated by Christians who are more concerned about what the liberals call basic human right, than what God's word teaches.

As a matter of emphasis, I also believe what God's word teaches about raising up children, including the use of the rod whenever necessary. My Wife and I have used it on our 3 children with love, and have produced Godly mature young people we are grateful to God for.
